Aroma

Sweet and slightly sticky in the best way: classic Tennessee sour‑mash notes wrapped in soft vanilla, caramel and an exotic hint of coconut. The profile is open and rounded, clearly accessible and a touch sweeter than a straight, unflavoured whiskey.

Palate

Mild and very approachable. Corn sweetness and bourbon character form the base, while the coconut accent brings a light, tropical twist. Alcohol heat is restrained; the style is deliberately smooth and uncomplicated rather than dry or austere. A tiny pinch of salt keeps the sweetness in check and adds definition.

Finish

Medium length with a sweet, exotic note and gentle bourbon afterglow. The texture stays soft and easygoing to the end.

Overall Impression

A whiskey for those who like the category but prefer a softer, more playful profile. Drink lightly chilled or over ice, or use it in long drinks such as a “Tennessee Twist” with coconut water, ginger ale or cola.

The red bottle does not only reflect the traffic red of international maritime rules but in combination with white and a darker blue label pays tribute to the flag of Tennessee.

We love to sail ourselves. David preferably on the Baltic Sea and Jens in the Mediterranean. During a joint sailing trip, we came up with the idea for a new favorite drink. This became JJs Manöverschluck.

Our bottles come in a striking maritime design. The colors of buoys and navigational beacons are applied to the bottles in a special process and the wooden corks are reminiscent of the many beautiful wooden boats. We received the world-renowned iF Design Award for our design.
